Light Touch Restoration - Community Workshops

Healing Habitat’s focus is on light touch (i.e. no heavy equipment) restoration of stream and wetland habitats. We specialize in willow restoration techniques for streambank erosion issues while the wetland services focus on creating diverse habitats. Willow and natural “green” restoration techniques have been around since at least the 1700’s and have been used around the world for erosion issues caused by severe flooding and destructive landuse practices. Healing Habitats founder, Andrea Drayer, has steeped herself in the history and scientific knowledge of these practices and she is excited to bring these concepts to communities as these are practices anyone can learn! She believes restoration of habitats works best at the small-scale community level.
